Hi there,
It has been brought to our attention the concern some players have about data that is sent and stored while playing our game.
Just to make it clear: We value user's privacy and will never share or sell your personal information.
That said, in order to login players to the game, and to provide better updates, some identification is necessary. We use Apple-approved information to differentiate between player accounts accessing our applications.
Here's what is being sent and stored while connecting to our servers:
- Your unique device ID
- Your model type (iTouch or iPhone)
- The game version
- A few security keys to protect player's account (similar as a password)
You may notice that on legacy versions of Phoenix Emperor, the URL has information that uniquely identifies you. While the phone number is present in the URL, it is not stored. The only information that needs to be permanently stored is the Unique Device ID, Model Type, and current Game Version being used. Think of seeing the mobile number in the URL as making a call and seeing the caller ID for someone. You can save it, or you can disregard it and not save it. We have no use for storing phone numbers in order to identify players, so your phone number is not stored, but we do see it on the caller ID.
In light of recent events, we can understand why players might not want to have their caller ID show, so we have submitted a request to Apple to remove that aspect from the URL.
EDIT: The recent update from Phoenix Emperor includes the following new updates:
1) A new in-game forum access (will be opened this weekend)
2) A fix to remove player's number from the url when they access the game.
Again, your phone information is/was not stored nor used anywhere, at any time.
